This is the first in what I hope will be a semi-regular feature here at SaveSNL.com. I'm calling it Blogwatch, and from time to time I'll be highlighting other bloggers' views on the state of Saturday Night Live.
First up is a brief post over at Borderline: A Newton and Waltham Blog about how Mad TV is overtaking SNL in the funny department. The author seems to be just as bothered by the horrendousness of the fart joke sketch in this past week's episode of SNL as I was, so I might be tempted to agree.

Thanks for the link. I have to say that I don't hate SNL either ... I am a long-time fan, having started watching way back in the early 1980s. But it really has gone downhill in the last few years. I've started to watch episodes this season, and invariably turn off the set after 20 minutes. The opening monologues are OK, but the skits suck. The only thing I've laughed at this season was one of the newer guy's al pacino impersonations. Nothing else has been funny.
They need some new good talent, or a new approach to skit writing.
