Blogger Dirtylaundry has thoughts on how to fix Saturday Night Live after viewing some of the classic episodes recently released in the SNL: Complete First Season set:
"If you're going to keep things at 90 minutes (and I'm in the camp that says they should), then Lorne Michaels needs to rewatch a few of these old shows and realize that it ultimately needs to be a 90 minute VARIETY show. Book 2 more musical guests per week..."
I don't necessarily agree, as I still think there are ways to increase the quality of the comedy, instead of just giving up and decreasing the chances for the show to suck. Still, it's a valid opinion, and well written too.
